RRTC/DRRP In-service

On September 13, 2011, our consumer advocate, Richard Aust, conducted an RRTC/DRRP in-service presentation for the Trident Spinal Cord Injury Association Peer Group which serves Charleston, Berkeley, and Dorchester counties. The presentation included an overview of the RRTC and DRRP, as well as their individual studies. In addition, Mr. Aust discussed the potential collaboration of the South Carolina Spinal Cord Injury Association (SCSCIA) and the South Carolina Spinal Cord Injury Research Fund (SCSCIRF). The goal of the potential collaboration is for SCSCIA to assist the SCSCIRF with disseminating SCI research results, promoting the SCSCIRF in the community, recruiting potential SCI research participants, and providing initial contact/support to people who have an SCI and are in inpatient rehabilitation. The group used the in-service presentation to have a lively discussion about the need to improve overall support for people with SCI.
